(Elvis Costello, JD McPherson) The Ride Out features Patrick’s long-time collaborator Matt Stoessel (Faye Webster, Will Johnson, T. Hardy Morris) crafting immaculate layers of warm pedal steel over rich percussion and fantastic arrangements of strings, bass organ and chiming guitars all weaving around Carey’s innate lyrical sense of hope and wonder through ennui and disillusion.
